Travel Information
Traveling to South Africa
International delegates must check their visa requirements for South Africa well in advance. For e-visa details, visit the ePermits website or contact the South African embassy in your country. Please see if your home country is a visa exempt country here: Visa Exempt Countries. To arrange visa letters for visa applications, please email chantal@omf.com.
Ensure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines before your trip. Depending on where you’re coming from, you might need specific vaccinations or medications as a precaution against diseases. Visit the World Health Organisation website for South Africa-specific health advice.
We advise all attendees to check the latest COVID-19 travel and health guidelines for South Africa as the situation may change. For the most current information, refer to the South African Government’s COVID-19 portal.
While Cape Town, like many major cities, does have areas with higher crime rates, we want to assure all attendees that the surrounding Century City area is recognised for its high level of security and safety measures. We encourage attendees to stay vigilant and aware of their surroundings when exploring the city, but rest assured, the event venue and recommended accommodations are situated in one of the safest areas of Cape Town.
Ensure you have South African Rand (ZAR) for transactions. While most places accept international cards, carrying cash for small or card-less transactions is advisable. You can exchange currency at Cape Town International Airport, banks, or designated bureaus. Be aware of transaction fees on international cards and consider exchanging some money before arrival for ease.
You’ll have access to reliable high-speed internet at the venue and in most accommodations. Public Wi-Fi is also widely available. To stay connected throughout your visit, consider a local SIM card from trusted providers like Vodacom, MTN, or Cell C, available at Cape Town International Airport and various retail stores across the city.
Getting around Cape Town
All participants arriving at Cape Town International Airport between October 17, 2024, and October 18, 2024, will be met at the airport and provided with transportation to the Hotel Bridgewater Century City and the contract hotels. Arriving in Cape Town is straightforward via Cape Town International Airport (CTIA), the main entry point for international visitors, which boasts connections to major global cities. Upon landing, attendees can utilise a variety of transportation options to reach the city centre and event venue, including advance booking transfer services for a hassle-free journey. Cape Town’s extensive public transport network, the MyCiTi bus, alongside the availability of car rentals, ensures that getting around the city is convenient, allowing attendees to explore its attractions with ease.
